MY EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND
I have been in the fitness industry for the past 13 years, during this time I have gained a solid background of how and why exercise and nutrition will benefit you.
In 2008 I studied for my Level 3 in Sports Massage Therapy through the Fitness Academy in Swindon am now am able to proide a service to help with tired and fatiquing muscles and joints and also to assist with injuries.
On completion of my qualification I joine the Sports Massage Association (SMA) and am governed by their code of ethics.
The Sports Massage Association is the UK professional body representing sports massage therapist and the profession. The SMA was launched at the commonwealth games in Manchester in 2002. With support from the leading sports bodies, related professional groups and educators, it is now recognised and the lead body for sports massage by the major employers in the UK.
BEWARE - Standards of training vary dramatically, an unsuitably qualified therapist could potentially cause injury.
REMEMBER - Always ask if your therapist is a member of the SMA, if so they will hold a membership card, certificate and valid insurance.
